Bloody 'ell. 2 of you went to the Touring Principal 79. I was a fan but it never dawned on me to go to concerts. I was only 13 at the time so that was probably why. What was it like? If i had a time machine, that's the tour i would go back to even though the Teletour had a better light show. The Touring Principle played the best songs and the mighty Minimoog was heard for the first time.

To be honest with you the Touring Principle was a bit of a blur,it was the first gig of any kind that I had been to,my Dads cousin took me,hes no longer with us so it has special memories for me but the show itself was amazing,i don't remember much about the songs, the thing that impressed me was the power and the lights,i had never seen anything like it,the floor shook with some of the sounds that were made.

All i can remember of the Wembley '81 night is as follows............. First of all,my friends cousin bought 3 tickets at £5 each. It was my birthday present as i was 15 on may 1st. It seemed to take ages getting there by train, having to change etc. I wasn't dressed up and was wearing Doctor Martins boots. We got to the foyer and bought a t-shirt,badge and tour programme. All of a sudden the place rumbled and shook. We rushed in thinking Numan was on stage but it was the support band Shock. We didn't watch them, mabye we were late. The concert finally started and we started to cheer who we thought was Numan but it was one of 2 the light operators that went up on those seats into the rig. A lot of it is a blurr but remember rushing back so that i could see the Airlane footage on the screen. We were sitting near the stage,to the side and trod on peoples feet in my Doctor Martins in the rush to get a good view. I also remember She's got claws. We looked at each other and thought it was rubbish mainly because of the saxophone but clapped and cheered anyway. The next thing i knew,we were on the train coming home looking into darkness feeling very, very, very sad and upset. It's funny how i remember little snippets of the night. But without a doubt, the bits in between were amazing. I was probably too stunned to remember much.

First - TTP Hammersmith Odeon 79 Most Recent - Pleasure Principle Tour Indigo 2009, prior to that Warriors Hammersmith Odeon 83 but by then I wasn't so much a fan anymore. Actually, I remember seeing him at The Marquee in the 9ts and not really enjoying it, nothing will come close to those first two tours. Next - None, can only relate to his career before 1981/82.
